It was love at first sight with these gems. We met them for the first time while we were photographing two of our best friends’ getting married (one of our first weddings ever!) Suz + Corey were charming as hell + dressed to the nines + the kind of guests who you immediately want to get shots of because they’re so damn photogenic. We fell for them even harder when they got us to do a couples shoot with them a few months later. And then we fell even harder as we started running into them more + hanging out around Calgary’s music scene. And then we fell even harder when we shot a family session with them + their kiddos. And when they asked us to be a part of their engagement + wedding celebrations? You get the picture. We love these guys.
They had their first look + said their I Dos in Suzanne’s parent’s home, where she grew up + where her parents got married almost 35 years ago. They partied on the Bass Bus with their best friends. We set off smoke-bombs in the park. They wrote their own vows + Suz, who was officially becoming step-mom, wrote personalized vows to the kids (scroll down + you get to witness what the ceremony was like during those vows - the backyard was basically getting flooded in a pool of everyone’s tears). Post-ceremony, everyone huddled up with blankets + around the fire with their champagne, sharing stories + hugs + enjoying each other’s company. And then after everyone cried some more during speeches, these lovebirds + their family + friends tore up the dance floor + partied the night away. Hard.
We’re lucky to know these two + to have become friends. We’re lucky to have had the privilege to photograph such a special day for such special humans.
