Shelby + Justine | Cliffhouse Bistro Mt. Norquay Banff Wedding Photographers
Downside: having to pivot your wedding plans due to a global pandemic
Upside: the new plan is an intimate celebration at the Cliffhouse Bistro in Banff, complete with a chairlift entrance to their ceremony, t r a n s f o r m a t i v e food, and epic views
They got ready together with their closest pals. Justine foraged for little pieces of greenery for the favours the night before. Shelby wore the bodice from her mom’s wedding dress. They snuck away from the reception to a private corner on the cliff, we played Bloom by The Paper Kites from our phone, and they had their first dance as the sun tucked itself away behind the mountains.
These two made this day their own. We’re so lucky to have been the ones to document it.
Venue: Cliffhouse Bistro | Coordinator: Something New | Officiant: Cathy from Love Speaks | Flowers: Blue Lakes Floral Design | Cake: Kake Canmore
Maddy + Steve // Folk Tree Lodge, Bragg Creek Intimate Wedding // 35mm Film, Polaroid, + Digital
These two stayed in a logwood cabin with their closest family + friends + said their vows in the middle of the forest. Their friend played music as they walked down their mossy tree-lined aisle. The smoke from down south gave us all-day ‘golden hour’. Steve’s family witnessed their I Do’s + gave a speech all the way from Australia. Maddy’s family put together the picnic. The cake topper was the same one the bride’s grandparents had on their wedding cake decades ago. Their nearest + dearest created the light for their first dance.
So thankful we got to be part of documenting this perfectly intimate celebration + that we got to do it in part through 35mm + polaroid film, to provide them with tangible images that can be passed down to their children + grandchildren as they crinkle + fade from decades of being witnessed + cherished + held.
The most special day.
