Nelson + Steph // Crowsnest Pass, Alberta Wedding

N + S Sneak-41.jpg

Nelson + Steph got married at the groom's family property in Crows Nest Pass. From the golden fields, you can see the mountain that he proposed to her on.
They had a friend do the ceremony and he "read" from an issue of Thrasher Magazine. They had guests throw dried flower petal confetti during the recessional. They had a whiskey bar + pizza delivered for their late night snack. They had yard games set up and everyone was playing Spike Ball all night. They changed into comfy (but chic as hell) alternate wedding clothes after the ceremony. Steph surprised Nelson with a Kendrick Lamar track for their first dance.
Instead of stressing about their schedule on the day of, they decided to focus more on the two of them soaking up every moment together + their guests having a good time. Their wedding, like them, was relaxed, creative, and wildly fun.

Britt + Clay // Calgary, Alberta Couple Session

Five Years

We just had our five year anniversary - five whole years of being best friends. We celebrated in the best, most fun, most "us" way as we possibly could've. Camera in tow, we got take out pasta + headed out to the big rock. We cruised around the parking lot, soaking up the sun (!!!), while Alex practiced not flailing off her board. We spent the sunset stuffing our faces with food, climbing through the crevasse + up onto the rock, sitting around + taking photos. On the way back into the city, we shouted along to some of our favourite songs, making sure to play all of our couple songs (i.e. The Next Episode by Dre), + partaking in some potentially negligent + aggressive car-dancing. Our night ended with a bunch of loud local bands at Broken City - we got to hear new Ghost Factory + BJ Killer treated us to celebratory white wine + we watched the funnest pop punk bands + hang out with some of our favourite buds + it was just the. best.

We've been trying to find opportunities to dig deeper into videography - challenge ourselves to expand our skill set, learn more about video editing, + be creative. This seemed like the perfect day for it. We have a lot of learning to do, but this was super fun + we really like the result of filming our anni night. So pumped to continue experimenting with this!
