Shelby + Justine | Cliffhouse Bistro Mt. Norquay Banff Wedding Photographers

Downside: having to pivot your wedding plans due to a global pandemic
Upside: the new plan is an intimate celebration at the Cliffhouse Bistro in Banff, complete with a chairlift entrance to their ceremony, t r a n s f o r m a t i v e food, and epic views

They got ready together with their closest pals. Justine foraged for little pieces of greenery for the favours the night before. Shelby wore the bodice from her momโ€™s wedding dress. They snuck away from the reception to a private corner on the cliff, we played Bloom by The Paper Kites from our phone, and they had their first dance as the sun tucked itself away behind the mountains.

These two made this day their own. Weโ€™re so lucky to have been the ones to document it.

Boy do we love balmy autumn afternoons, crisp blue skies, badlands dust and texture, and this adventurous, tender, beautiful family.

This was back in 2020. We wandered aimlessly, mostly following the kids as they explored and allowing them to surprise us with the spots their curiosity led them to. There were no expectations of big, posed grins, no forced movements, no restrictions or time restraints. Just kids being kids, showing us this corner of the world as only they could. Just a family who came as they were, wound tightly together and sincerely present in their seeking of sun-soaked joy and connection. Just humans, earnest and open, sharing their warm, messy, overflowing lives with us.
